Dream War

People from different planets started meeting in the dimension, exchanging information and changing it without any control, which lead to the death of many and leaving them in comas in the real world. This made people divide themselves into groups and factions, and they started wars against each other and the wild beings of the Dream Dimension. In the real world, companies and entire societies began shaping themselves around the Dream Dimension, making sure that people slept a lot and maintained a stable mental state so that they could fight when asleep.

The collective mind began creating its own defenses against the Dreamers, some even gaining sentience and joining the side they believed would bring peace to the Dream Dimension. After years of conflict only a few factions remained, with planets in the real world inhabited by societies glorifying death in the Dream Dimension and focusing their technological advancements to prolonged sleep and space travel. Many planets were conquered and terraformed for the sake of creating facilities for Dreamers and there were many that were against the wars in the Dream Dimension but they were killed by pro-war Dreamers when they were found in the Dream Dimension. This quickly silenced the opposition and in the real world powerful Dreamers were able to live in luxury thanks to the funding of the government as a way to make sure that they didn’t turn against them in case of a revolution.

The first two Factions that were formed and discovered by the Dreamers were called Daydreamers and Terror of The Night. The first Faction contained fairy tale creatures and lands, positive energy reigned and it was considered a perfect Faction to most. The second Faction, however, was the complete opposite. With all sorts of nightmarish creatures and areas, it was virtually unacceptable to any outsider. But certain Dreamers were able to harness the devilish group and its secrets.

Dozens of years passed and where there were only 2 main Factions in the Dream Dimension, there appeared 2 more, more complex ones. These new Factions were named Lucid Ones, named after Dreamers discovered that their lucid dreams ended up in this world, and Theta and Delta, the more abstract faction, where form came second to function.

Wars raged on, many died and some members of each Faction formed truces and alliances, excluding the Terror of The Night that allowed none to rule over them. The Daydreamers and Lucid Ones joined forces against the Terror of The Night when they attacked both the homeland of the Daydreamers and the headquarters of the Lucid Ones. This proved to be a miscalculation by their part since they lost most of their forces and were forced to adopt a defensive position while they recovered their numbers. This three way battle allowed the Theta and Delta to study the other factions without being noticed, making them the strongest in terms of intellectual power at this point. During the peace time, Theta and Delta began working on ways to counteract any attack against them independent of what faction it was. Dreamers in all factions were working diligently while awake and in their free time at this point so as to waste no time in the Dream Dimension and focus only on the next war.

Unbeknown to them, the collective mind was also studying the moves and even thought processes of all Dreamers, using this information to create defenses against them for two main scenarios: The first was in case Dreamers were able to find it and attempt to destroy it or take control of it; The second was to eliminate all Dreamers from the Dream Dimension and close the Great Tear.

Dreamers had not discovered the tear at this point and the collective mind’s creations were doing their best to make sure it stayed that way. However, some of the creations decided to abandon their duties and join Factions which in the end made them fight against their brothers and sisters.
